Job Summary

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC Plasma, Oxy-Fuel Burning, or CNC Milling machines, maintaining high productivity and safety standards while working as part of a team to fulfill customer orders.

Job Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Operate CNC Plasma, Oxy-Fuel Burning, or CNC Milling machines effectively
• Machine Setup: Ensure the machine is in proper working condition, and confirm that the machine and torches are aligned correctly before starting operations
• Order Verification: Read and match customer orders to material before processing
• Test Report Validation: Verify that the test report for the material being processed is accurate
• Test Run: Perform a test run to ensure the program is functioning correctly
• First Article Inspection: Conduct a first article inspection to ensure the part meets program specifications and order requirements
• Documentation: Document all relevant information on the shop order
• Part Marking: Stamp or mark parts with order information
• Program Loading: Load programs into the machine's computer system
• Scrap Management: Cut scrap material for easy removal from the machine
• Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and orderly machine and work area

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED
• Experience: 1-3 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Physical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history
• Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
