HR Onboarding Coordinator

Platte Valley Companies - Scottsbluff, NE

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing the actions and processes to fully integrate new Associates into our organization by introducing them to their role, company policies and culture. This involves coordination between our HR team, the hiring manager and peer Associates at the work location. Support retention efforts by gathering feedback, facilitating engagement activities and connecting Associates with skill building opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Continually design and conduct new hire orientation to begin the onboarding process to ensure Associates integrate smoothly into their new roles and the company culture in conjunction with the technical training specialist.
  2. Design, manage, and maintain the company-wide Customer Experience program; support and participate in committee activities.
  1. Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions for supervisors and selected peer trainers in conjunction with the HR Technical Training Specialist; facilitate ongoing quarterly meetings to maintain peer trainer skills and engagement.
  2. Manage and prepare for town hall meetings and other Associate communication and recognition events.
  3. Provide employee engagement activities for all Associates in Scottsbluff area.
  4. Design, implement and maintain high school and college internship program to build a future talent pool.
  5. Make recommendations and assist Associates in finding and enrolling in appropriate outside training programs.
  6. Oversee tuition reimbursement requests, approvals and payments.
  7. Track outside training opportunities provided to Associates.
  8. Provide Associate enrichment, team building and development programs at locations as needed.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in business or education and/or three years' experience in human resources required.
  2. Two years' experience in designing, developing and implementing employee training preferred.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate teaching and training methodology.
  4. The ability to decipher technical material and develop appropriate training methodologies from the material.
  5. Demonstrated human relations / interpersonal skills and ability to work with co-workers, supervisors, other departments and customers.
  6. Effective oral and written communications skills.
  7. Proficient computer skills.
  8. Ability to handle special projects.
  9. General areas of competency: decision making, dependability, development, environmental safety, evaluation skills, interpersonal skills, prioritizing, problem solving, selling skills, team skills and time management.
  10. Must be capable of working with and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  11. Ability to travel 30% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

Light Work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, fingering, grasping, repetitive motions, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, climbing, kneeling, talking, hearing, pulling, pushing, thinking, concentrating and interacting with others.
