Job Description

The Hennepin County Information Technology (IT) Department is seeking an team-oriented IT intern to join the enterprise architecture division. The enterprise architecture division conducts many Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate new solution feasibility, emerging application design patterns and implementation patterns. The intern will assist in the development, testing, documentation and demonstrations of Proof of Concepts. This position requires a level 3 security check as a requirement for employment.

 

Location and hours:

This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. This internship will start in January 2025 and will last up to 1 year in duration. This intern will work approximately 20 hours/week.  

 

While this position is designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota  

New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable after the new employee successfully completes probation.

In this position, you will:  
  • Assist in the development, testing, documentation and demonstrations of Proof of Concepts.
  • Research, document and maintain application pattern documentation.
  • Develop, maintain, and document application pattern code example.
  • Maintain and support Enterprise Architectures custom applications.
  • Complete tasks automation using scripts/logic apps.
Need to have:  
  • Must be in one of the following 
    • Current enrollment for the 2024-2025 academic school year in a bachelor's or master's degree program in C omputer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.  
    • Recent graduate (within 6 months) in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.  
  • Access to reliable internet access and self-supported remote office space.
