Our team in Space and Defense Group is looking for a
Senior (Prototype) Assembler to join them. You will report to the and will have an onsite work schedule in Chatsworth, CA.
To be considered for the Senior(Prototype) Assembler, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
5 year or more of Prototype or Senior Assembly level experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical) or
Technical Degree or equivalent and 3 years or more as Moog Senior Assembler/Tester, Assembler/Technician
Experience working with precision assembly and test operations on complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical valves, actuators.
Able to read blueprints.
Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)
As a Senior Assembler, you will:
Perform various precision assembly and test operations on complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical valves, actuators and systems requiring a high degree of technical skill and ability.
Assembly activity utilizes a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and precision micrometers to obtain proper build requirements.
Test activity requires foresight and considerable judgement in determining problem areas. Test equipment is used to a more complex degree.
Set up hydraulic fixturing and electronic measuring equipment utilizing auxiliary monitoring devices; e.g., transducers, strain gages, high temperature thermocouples, flow meters, cameras, etc.
Perform "prototyping" or pre-production testing on new units, as required.
Work from assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications, and other instructions, both written and oral.
Work in concert with Product Engineering in diagnosing and proposing the necessary rework on models that are intricate in structure and design.
Work closely with engineering to innovate testing procedures and suggest changes in worksheet processes.
Clean components to required cleanliness levels. Maintains traceability records, MDC forms and configuration records on controlled programs.
Work on repair units normally run with production units.
Contribute to the teamwork environment in terms of productivity, initiative, cooperation, data collection and attitude.
May be required to travel to customer facilities and service Moog hardware.

Salary Range:
California Residents: Pay range for this opportunity is $33.56-$39 per hour
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.
